I have Strats with single coils and humming is what they do. I use this in every Strat I own to reduce electrical noise and would estimate 90% effectiveness. Some single coils cannot be silenced but this really helps.Neatness is not important. Conductivity is. Add this to the bottom of the pickguard and all throughout the pickup cavity. Overlap each piece just enough to ensure they touch and have continuity. Allow a tiny amount to overlap the cavity so it makes contact with the pickguard. Don't forget to reconnect the ground wire you removed when taping the cavity.
