The only issue I had was the USB-3 (A/B) data cable that came with it. It was broken and showing USB 2.0 speed. Given the seemingly high quality of the hub itself, I'm not deducting a point for that. Over the years I've found that high-end devices often come with questionable quality data cables. I swapped it and everything is fine. I read many reviews and had a few comments: 1) USB-3 cables are usually shorter. Potentially high data rates can be a problem when using longer standard quality cables and connectors on the front of a computer tower case. I first encountered this when connecting high-speed devices to the USB3.0 (USB3.1 Gen-1) ports on the front of the PC. Unlike the rear where the USB connector is soldered directly to the motherboard, the front connectors are connected with a long internal cable (possibly of questionable quality) that goes to the motherboard connector. The high-speed devices I had trouble with (front) worked fine on the rear ports. 2) For wireless keyboards and mice, I've connected a Logitech Unifying receiver to a hub and both items work with no issues. 3) On the hub I purchased all indicator lights work as expected. 4) My LG Android mobile phone also charges and transfers data through the hub. The iPhone may be more sophisticated (compared to the current one). 5) The body of the hub is metal, not plastic. 6) The device charger came with several AC plug adapters including one for USA. I connected this hub to an Intel 8I7BEH. NUC Mini PC (i7-8559 processor; all 5 USB ports are 3.1 Gen-2). Transfer rates between the NUC and the hub and between multiple HDDs and SSDs connected to the hub are fast. Currently connected to the hub: 1 - Mouse/Keyboard Receiver 1 - USB 3.0 Gen 2 StarTech Enclosure with SATA 5400rpm Internal NAS - 3 Hard Drives 2 - USB 3.0 Gen 1 Enclosure with SATA 7200rpm Hard Drives/ min min 3 hard drives 1 - SATA 3 SSD NUC ports have more of them. Everything works very well. There are no complaints at all. I understand that production sometimes produces defective devices, but mine works fine.
