Review on Secbolt Horizontal Air Compressor Pressure Switch Control Valve 90-120 PSI - Efficient Manifold Regulator Gauges by John Bennett

Revainrating 5 out of 5

A good low cost solution, but not ideal. Feel the best option on Revain.

I bought an almost identical item from Amazon. You can read my post with pictures on this point. One thing I didn't like about a previously purchased item is that I couldn't remove the brass part that comes out of the manifold and rails. This part has O-rings. In my opinion, this part does not add any value and can fail. This element did not have the ability to "ground" the switch. The first picture shows the wiring in the switch. Note that there are ground screws. In the previous element, it was not possible to ground the wires. The second picture shows a general view of the installation. Note that the seller specifically advises not to use Teflon tape as threading the fittings in can damage the female fittings on the manifold. The supplier provided a tread retainer/sealant and suggested using the retainer and sealant in place of the Teflon tape. I'm a retired mechanical engineer. I didn't read this guide until after I put the tape on the fittings. Suggest not to use the tape and follow the instructions. The third picture I believe shows brass parts with o-rings and a sliding collar with venting. I have no idea why they should be installed. I replaced them with a closed nipple. We encourage you to do the same. In the third picture you can see a 1/2 to 1/4 brass adapter. It was an unexpected surprise. My compressor has a 1/4" outlet. Don't assume this adapter is listed. The last picture shows the safety valve. I think this is a problem. The thread on the relief valve is too small. Hence the safety valve leaks when screwed in. The shoulder of the hex portion of the safety valve "goes down" to seal the threads. The good news is that I find this results in very little air leakage. I sprayed this fitting with soap and water and there was minimal air leakage. As you can see I didn't use teflon tape but used the threadlocker/sealant that came with it. If you're looking for a solution like this for your compressor I think this is the one for you. Get it there isn't one that looks like the one in the link I pasted at the beginning of this post.
