Review on πŸ”§ Milescraft 1325 PocketJig200 - Enhanced Pocket Hole Jig Kit for Precise and Efficient Joinery by Steven Ali

Excellent for the money but the plastic rail/fence will fail quickly.

I used this for the first time last night. My daughter wants a stage for the corner of her room. So I take measurements, take wood and start cutting. Then I quickly understand how I will collect all this? I realize I haven't opened this set yet, so I decided to give it a try. Instructions: not clear. Do yourself a favor and check out the 5 minute YouTube link that shows the kit's features and how to use it. Much clearer than written instructions. I write to earn a living and there just wasn't any clarity to that direction. Screws: I used all 10 screws of a certain size in this 1 project. You have to buy more. This is a starter range - nothing else. Go ahead and buy more when you buy this kit. Kreg screws work with it (that's what I've read). Driver: works fine. Mine isn't broken, warped or cracked like others have reported. I found it easy to use. My biggest gripe with this kit is that the rail that pivots at the end of the mount is plastic. It has to be metal - here's why: This rail/guard is used as the edge that you pull to line up the pocket hole. If this lead is bent, you are going up too far from the bottom of the board, which will not allow the screw to make enough contact. Since the rail/guard is plastic, it will flex. This is a big problem because if this part ever breaks, this jig now has another manual step and an increased risk of error. I used it ten times last night for ten pocket holes and it's already bent. I hope they fix this in their next version. However, if it breaks I doubt I'll buy a replacement if the product is still plastic. I would most likely go to something like a budget store that sells a metal fitting for significantly less than even competitor Blue. If you work with wood on weekends, this is perfect. I don't have many projects with holes in my pockets. If you're using this thing for a more common list of hole-in-pocket projects, then I'd go with something more expensive to address the concerns above.
