Review on Sony BDPS1700 Streaming Certified Refurbished by Carlos Burrows

Despite all the negative reviews, I still decided to buy it. It's Sony and it's one of the cheapest Blu-ray players out there. I have this for my mother. It only uses the disk function and nothing else. She said it plays most of her Vietnamese discs, so I'd say it's a region-less player. The ones that don't work. I suspect they were burned incorrectly or there was a problem with the discs. I just find these videos online and re-record them for them. She also likes the simplicity of the remote control. When trying to set it up for them, I noticed that it was much quieter and faster compared to our old Blu-ray player. I was inclined to pick the Samsung for its Samsung TV and soundbar. But at least this one has an LED power indicator, while the Samsung doesn't. It fits perfectly with Samsung TVs and TVs with a soundbar.
