That amount of salt killed one of my fish in the quarantine tank. Checked everything, finally narrowing it down to ammonia in salt. Tested with two different brands of ammonia. Both tests gave almost identical results. Ordered in January, stored in a hardware store bucket with a lid that had a gasket on it. Put in this specified bucket on the day I received it. This is the last time I've ever seen anything from the immediate ocean. It's a cheap salt so I'm used to using it for bike tanks and in quarantine tanks. I can deal with the cyanobacteria she always gives me, but not the death of my fish. The aquarium has been set up for 2 years. I have been in this hobby for over 10 years and have never had such problems with IO. All parameters previously tested in the pool were great, just wanted to do a 10% water change to get the nitrates down a bit. And also an anemone pool that started to crack and couldn't figure out why. Lesson Learned: Test all salts for ammonia first. Never buy IO again. You cost me $79 fish and the price of your bad salt. I bought three 55 gallon mixing bags. Two out of three were bad.
