220 volts? for aquarium heaters and coolers

I have several of these heaters and although their temperature readings in the aquarium are far from normal they worked perfectly once I installed them with a heat gun. Bought 2 more and the box clearly says they require 220 volts at 50Hz (European voltage and I'm in the US). But the plug looks right so I emailed the seller and he didn't reply!
