When I received these hangers the purple paint was peeling off all the clear plastic bags they came in and was also peeling off the white paper towel. I sent them back and ordered a replacement. The new hangers did the same. However, after a few days, they stop rubbing the paint off the paper towel or anything. It seems that the summer heat has greatly affected the color of the hangers. After they have cooled for several days, the color will have stabilized and will not rub off. So if you notice the paint is peeling when you first receive it, wait a few days before deciding to return it. Let's see if it stops after a few days.
