I have to admit that I wasn't expecting much when I ordered this straightening brush. Both my daughter and I have very curly hair and products like this have not worked for us in the past. We usually have to blow dry our hair and then use an expensive flat iron. Since then I've even given up wearing my hair straight as it takes too much time. However, the reviews were good and I was looking for something to speed up the straightening process for my daughter who likes to straighten her braids and wear ponytails occasionally. I can use this brush on her hair while it's still damp and it comes out really nice and smooth! I find it softer than ironing and shortens the blow-dry process. I just spray my hair with heat protectant before use. Your friends have tried it to tame flyaways or smooth waves in dry hair and it works great for that too! I love that it comes with a glove so you don't burn your hand! It's a bit difficult for my daughter to use it on the back of her head, but I'm just helping her with it. This is a great price for a really comfortable product that saves us a lot of time and gives our hair a straight, frizz-free look!
