I bought this spontaneously because of the cute mini mittens. Unfortunately, when using gloves, it's easy for hot steam to get onto the rest of the hand and wrist. The stand is fine, no complaints. But what's really annoying is that the lid is all bent and squeezed into a smaller diameter box. I'm sure the company is saving money on packaging and postage, but the lid doesn't open. Also, it has a bunch of symbols on it that are mostly illegible to me. Why couldn't there be a tiny insert explaining what they mean? After all, the color is not a pleasant gray. It's kind of a messy recycled look. It was a bad buy.
