Review on Inclusive Sediment IFilters Cartridge for Efficient Filtration by Jimmy Scaturro

Sturdy filters with good construction, taking precautions to avoid leaking threads

I returned the first set of 3 because the threaded connections were leaking badly. As a locksmith I've had the opportunity to inspect threads and didn't like what I found, but it could be a problem with plastic threads. Getting a good seal is a balance between using enough sealing material (tape or glue) and having enough density to seal, but not so tight that the plastic cracks. The company had excellent email communication and refunded my money without hesitation. After searching the internet for a comparable replacement, I didn't like any of the other options due to the price and reviews. I already knew this product to be of solid construction with very good o-rings and I really wish it had clear bowls so I could see when the filters needed changing. So I decided to order the same product again knowing I had to be extra careful to avoid leaks. In my case, I used a 3/4NPT pipe valve and hand-threaded it in, then 1-1/2 more turns to clean up the roundness of the threads. I then applied Teflon pipe grease to fill both the nipple and the female thread. After screwing the fittings in by hand, I tightened them 1-1/2 turns with pliers. The fittings seemed to rest against the filter housing. After installing and gluing all the hardware, I had no leaks. I don't like teflon tape made from plastic filament as plastic filament usually has mold lines and other imperfections that teflon tape doesn't seem to fill in even with overuse. I'm sure if you buy these and use teflon pipe lube as directed you can install with no leaks and no need for a pipe faucet. I used duct locking pliers to tighten my PVC fittings before gluing the rest of the PVC together and not a single drop!
