I bought this because I would otherwise have to use smaller bottles on a regular cage and even then the nipple would hit the top tube when removing it. Full size bottle goes in and out easily! After receiving this one and seeing how well it worked, I ordered another one and added it to the seat tube. This would require shorter, lower volume bottles and I would have to "learn" to remove them with my left hand, but without this cage the water bottle mount was useless. There was no way to get even a small bottle in or out of a regular cage in that very short seat tube space. Carbon looks great on my all black Specialized Rockhopper. Great price and would definitely recommend for tight spaces. !
