There are two sides to this. One is spiked and gripped so it doesn't move around the counter, which works pretty well. The other side is the cut surface, which surprisingly has a textured finish. This made slicing very easy because the meat or whatever was left in place. However, it cannot be deducted because this texture includes food. I've washed it 4 times - twice by hand (tried a brush and sponge) and twice in the dishwasher, but the meat is completely stuck in those grooves. The texture could fit if it wasn't so dense and deep. I won't be cooking with old leftovers so I'm going back.
