I've needed a tool like this for a long time and I always had a Marson wrench from my friend to borrow. I finally decided to try the Astro kit knowing it was made in China and might have some issues. I was happy to see that it actually works quite well despite some obvious design/manufacturing issues. I can see how some others might be struggling, so let me give you a few tips that I think will help you succeed. and I can't stress this enough, LUBRICATE THE TOOL BEFORE USE. When delivered, there is not a drop of oil on it, it is absolutely dry. A drop of heavy oil on each pivot and a little light grease on the slide pin that holds the bars together makes all the difference. Once lubricated, it requires much less effort and more consistent tension. Second, yes, the grips pull unevenly. Because the hole in the tool body is at least 1/16 larger than the diameter of the "drawbar" that slides through it. Any small angular misalignment will add up to a significant misalignment at the ends of the handles. It doesn't seem to matter if you're aware and try to hold the tool perpendicular to the work. Don't tilt it to level it or you will skew the nut bait. Finally, once lubricated, this tool provides enough force to break. You should feel when the user fully stretches and stops pulling. If you squeeze those handles until your eyes pop out, you'll break something. This level of force is not required to perform the tool's function and is actually detrimental. Treat this tool like a work tool and it will look like it will serve you well. While I hate buying "cheap" tools I think it's good value for the money and knowing what I know now I would buy it again.
