Review on An All-in-One Companion for Parents: Skip Hop Studio Select Day-to-Night Diaper Satchel by Monica Nixon

Surprisingly spacious!

This bag is very pretty and doesn't look like a diaper bag at all. The nylon material seems very durable and easy to clean. Bottle pockets on both sides of the bag are insulated. For example I put on one of the bottles and you can see it in one of the photos (I use Playtex insert bottles). There are two pockets on the front of the bag. The bottom one fits in a large wallet, with room left on the side. The top pocket is perfect for a cell phone or small items (I would use it for my personal belongings) and to give you an idea of how big it is in one of the photos I put Mustela face towels inside. Once the tissues are in I can close the bag, but the tissue box lid sometimes gets in the way. Also, the zipper on this particular bag is difficult to manage. I mean you have to use two hands to close it. I think it's because the zipper is so high on the top of the bag. On the back of the bag there is a zip pocket for a spare pad. This is the standard size for the Skip Hop brand and I don't think it's any bigger or smaller than most. Inside there are four pockets of equal size. You can see in the picture the pockets are reinforced which I like because it keeps things more secure. There are no bottle pockets in the bag. Also, I like the color on the inside - it's not black to make things easier to find, but also not too light to show dirt. Stroller hooks can be stored in the bag when not in use. Another favorite part of mine is that the bag has a zip closure at the top! I don't have to worry about everything flying out of the bag when I throw it in the car. The stroller hooks can also be used with the bag closed, which is another big plus. The hardware is yellow gold, and as much as I love yellow gold, I don't mind that shade. The handles are very comfortable. GENERAL I would recommend this bag to anyone like me looking for a diaper bag that doesn't look like it. It's very spacious, even if it doesn't look like it. I was between this and Storksak. The skip hop lasts the same or more and looks better. BUT I have my own concerns: the zippers don't come first (I've found it's a bit easier to zip up if you put something in the front pocket), I wish the handles were nylon. Material rather than faux leather - lasts longer, same goes for details - not sure how long the faux leather will last, I also wish Skip Hop had added a shoulder strap (but that's just personal preference)
