I bought these to make removable sides for my trailer. If you are looking for a similar app, this is the one for you. I used 2 x 4's for the vertical supports that fit into these rod holders. The pressure treated wood I used was just over 1-1/2" thick so I had to shave some material off the 2 x 4 to make it non-slip. These rod holders are just the ticket for this application. You are well made and more than strong enough with 4 - 1/4" screws. They are galvanized and therefore rust-resistant.
