Review on πŸ”’ Enhance Cargo Security: Ronin Factory Tie Down Brackets for Ford F150 F250 F350 & Raptor (2015-Present) by Thomas Silva

Revainrating 4 out of 5

First class product, above average customer service.

UPDATE January 24, 2019: Replacement plates and screws have been installed almost 2 months now. As long as there is no visible rust or obvious fading. Spare parts are significantly better than the first set. If I remember I will post a photo of the replacement in 3 months. I still get annoyed with the replacement process and I buy expensive screws that I ended up not using. UPDATE December 29, 2018: I saw a comment claiming that Ronin Factory left an improved product after a previous update. I contacted them and they quickly sent me a replacement set. I installed a new kit and after 3 weeks no rust showed up. I will update if the screws or plates rust like before. I'm glad they work better, but I've still spent a lot of money on A2 stainless steel hardware that I can't return now. UPDATE December 8, 2018: Added pictures of rusty bolts. The picture is typical for all braces from 3 months exposure time. Also had a picture of the back. The finish appears to be durable but clearly will not resist rust. I had to spend about $30 to replace the bolts with stainless ones (including nylon nuts, nylon nuts, and stainless steel washers). Now I have to touch up the rust and repaint. I am extremely disappointed. Would come back if I could. I do not recommend. It looks like the originals are much better in rust resistance. I live in Southwest Florida near the coast. If you want to make a tamper evident cover yourself, the back (from below) is accessible with some effort. The M6 nylock nut on the back makes it almost impossible to remove from the side of the bed. UPDATE November 10, 2018: I do not recommend this product. I will now spend significant sums of money to replace poorly plated screws. So much for buying anti-burglary screws. As of today I can see rust through the "powder coat". I haven't used parentheses yet. Very disappointed. UPDATE 11/01/2018: Almost all screws are rusting today. I've seen a friend's truck with factory installed 2015 brackets and bolts with no sign of rust. I am extremely disappointed. Now I can spend extra money and time replacing unnecessary screws with no tamper protection. Original Review: I really like braces. The finish is solid and has no rust. Installed on September 5, 2018. The screws, on the other hand, started to rust from day one. I replaced 1 (2-3 extras included) about a week after installing the brackets due to rust.
