FWIW, it's not clear what you're getting in this drive, but a Hardware Secrets review suggests it's an MLC drive, derived from the SF-2241 controller is supported. Since PNY doesn't list any specs they could always pick and change for the past 2 years (UPC on the list has changed so they probably have). Anyway: Bought in 2014, lightweight but recently used as a boot drive in a laptop, repurposed as a file server. It was running 24/7 but was idle as data was being downloaded to/from the external hard drive and then out of nowhere after a few seconds at every boot attempt the computer would freeze and show a blue screen. And then the laptop would not boot at all. Cannot recognize the SSD. Tried two other computers and neither could see the SSD (using a working SATA->USB bridge as well as a native SATA interface). Contacted PNY and sent the disc back to them hoping to get a replacement. There is currently no reason to buy OG PNY XLR8 drives because they are overpriced (0.50p/GB? No thanks). These SSDs aren't magic and have a terrible failure rate. They're not the fastest either, and especially for the money in 2016 you can get a faster, more reliable drive from any major vendor. You'll be a complete *FOIL* if you buy one of these in 2016.
