This item is warm, soft and comfortable on its own. The heat is just an added bonus. Also, it heats up pretty quickly. I set it for about 4-5 minutes to reach the heat I set it to. I'll be honest here. It's cool that it controls the temperature, but it's over the top and all it does is increase the price. I have never wanted or needed a thermostat to heat a blanket or blanket. Usually the levels are numeric or low/medium/high and that works for me. If you find that you better know what temperature you set the throw at while using it, even if it's just out of curiosity, then I think this throw is for you. It's still easy to use, so that's not a problem. It's better to set the timer to 4 hours than turn it off at the default time before you stop using it. Therefore, this feature is commendable. They are a must have in my home and let me tell you they would make a fantastic gift for anyone with a cold personality. They have always saved me a lot of money on my electricity bills because I was getting less heat. So far this seems like a good choice. No problems out of the box, so I highly recommend it for its functionality and practicality.
