When I first bought this I thought it was some sort of gravel cleaner, although it's not, I still use it as one of those. This is pretty much an electronic water siphon that took me almost 2 years to complete. I've never had trouble clogging even the dirtiest tanks. If you have a simple aquarium where the fish don't produce too much waste, then this option is for you. I've used it to drain my tanks in a pinch with no problems. Definitely recommend, it's been taking so long now. I had to replace the plastic hose with something longer, which helped me drain it to my plants outside of the house. Be sure to use the included sponge, otherwise the pump will clog.
