Well, first I had a problem: When I connected the cable, there was a loud hissing noise. After a lot of searching in my settings I found an option to mute your microphone and for some reason it was at maximum volume. In the sound settings, look for something that says +db, turn that down to 10 and you're spot on. The cable itself is great! Does exactly what it's supposed to do as long as your settings don't interfere.
