To be honest I've replaced this part on my Expedition maybe 5 times in the car's 215,000 mile life. I don't know why this part always burns out, but you know you need it when the climate control stops working and gets stuck on "Auto" with no fan - most likely it's not the fan, it's this one. I've used fake parts and bought cheap a few times to test an OEM part - a cheap part never lasts as long as Motorcraft, just my experience. Replaced both fronts with this part and ended up having to replace the rear with another part but went to Motorcraft for this replacement as well. Disembarking from the Expedition is easy, it is located in the upper right corner of the passenger's feet. Two 8mm screws hold it in place. It's hard to see anything under the dash and you have to bend your body a lot to get in there, but replacing it is a 10-minute job to be honest. They usually lasted about 2 years before burning out. This item is original (what I received), not a fake. Will buy again in the future, I'm sure. I'm not sure why this part is failing on this car, but from what I've read everywhere it's a known thing.
