Review on Puck Lights Battery Operated, GANA 6 Pack Color Changing Under Cabinet Lighting - Battery Powered Lights with Remote, 16 Colors and 4 Modes by Chris Prix

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Reliable lighting option with interesting features

I have ordered (6) of these Puck lights for my basement desk. There didn't seem to be many options for a battery operated light that offered remote on/off control. I decided to give it a try and have been pleasantly surprised so far, although I had to provide my own modifications to suit the unique needs of my workspace. The puck light is quite heavy with the batteries installed and the weight of the lights combined with the uneven surface I was trying to cling to interfered with my first attempts at mounting the lights on my bench. Ultimately, if you don't have a flat surface, you may need to go to an art supply store or hardware store for alternative means of attaching lights. Although four (4) of my lights fell off using the supplied adhesive pads, I was able to attach them myself. For the bottom two (2) I was able to use tape cut into 4 strips and this method works great for the flat metal surfaces on the underside of my bench posts. Even after a few bad practice runs (and falls), all puck indicators work perfectly. I received one (1) which appears to have a slight scratch/crack but this does not affect the performance of the light at the moment. The light puts out 80 lumens, which is more than enough light. my bank (even with 4 lamps) and was also highly rated in my search. A handy feature, when you unfold the lamps, the remote control can turn them on and off independently. Useful for getting to the fuse box in your house (during a power outage) or for lighting up dark areas with no power in your basement or attic! , battery powered flashlights (4/5). Easy installation - given the material for a typical installation, it wouldn't take more than 10 minutes, but for me in my particular use case, a little longer (still a 4/5). ). Adhesion is a difficult task. Not sure if this was 100% my use or not as I installed it in a spot where the sticky pad was flush with a piece of tape (wrapped around my mounting bars) and it still fell off. I can't help but think there are better gluing options. They offer two (2) small and (2) regular sized sticky pads, but if you use the pads for each light and there is a problem, the supply will quickly run out and the small pads serve little to no useful purpose. For these reasons, I'll rate the cling factor at 2/5. Overall, I'll rate these Puck lights 4 out of 5 for their usefulness, durability, and creative ways to use them with remote control or manual on/off. I would buy more if the opportunity arose if I needed additional lighting. Decent product, design and functionality for the price!
