but it seems to work great. My main system is a 2017 Apple MacBook.

I only used this at night after work, but seems to work great. My primary system is my 2017 Apple MacBook Pro 15 with Touch Bar. I really need this so I can free up some of my other USB-C ports. I've populated all the jacks on this one - Ethernet, HDMI and 2x USB 3. They all run on system power and I didn't have to plug in a charger. I turned off the power for about 2 hours and used everything without power and then plugged in the power to charge my laptop. We'll see how it works, but so far so good. The coil does not squeak and is still moderately warm even after a few hours of intensive use. I had to unplug the charger as everything was plugged in and it went through with no issues. Reconnecting went without any problems. I also swapped out the USB cables and it was pretty easy to hold the case and swap out the USBs with no issues. The light on top could be a little less bright, but it's not as bad as other things I've used. EDIT August 21, 2017: After a few weeks of use, the only issue I've had is: * Sometimes the ethernet won't activate on boot up, requiring me to disconnect and reconnect the Thunderbolt connection to reinitialize it, and it works *Once after VERY heavy use for 2-3 hours (both USBs were pumping data, ethernet was throttling and I was gaming over HDMI) and HDMI went black and lost signal. I think the power consumption was too high since it wasn't plugged in and I tried turning it on but found that I had to disconnect the main lightning connection, then connect the power, then connect the lightning connection to get everything back on track. in operation. That's all the problems I've had. As long as I'm happy
