The quality of the strap itself is inferior to the original. This is a more rigid and less flexible group. But it fits and works. The instructions are terrible. The screws are too small for even the smallest of hands, so I'd recommend lots of light and working on a firm, light-colored surface. They supply you with 4 new bolts, although they don't seem to tighten as well as the original bolts if you can avoid losing them during the disassembly process. When I removed the mime from the original case, I was surprised to find a thin film resembling security devices used to track clothing, electronics, and the like. There was no mention of this in the instructions! I assumed it had a possible heart rate function, so I removed it and reinstalled it in the same spot in the new strap case. I don't know if it's really necessary or not, but it seemed important to me. Ultimately everything is working great with the new band now, but I have a feeling that this band will only last a few months at best. The real problem is the adhesive used to stick the strap to the case that holds the internal component. I will inform you in the next few months if the group is cancelled. My conclusion is that I will not buy another Made in China band like this one. I wish I had gone with the original Fitbit band.
