Review on ๐ŸŒก๏ธ Inkbird Max 1200W Temperature Controller: Optimal Control for Greenhouse Climate by Jeffrey Mosqueda

Revainrating 5 out of 5

My unused freezer easily turned into a refrigerator.

We had a freezer in our garage that we rarely used. We were always running out of fridge space and started looking for fridges. The temperature control idea came to me when I was using something similar in my reef tank. It fit the bill perfectly. Installation was very easy (I actually did it while sitting at my desk). The manual was ok but the font was quite small. I just found a PDF file online and just looked at my screen. At first I tried simply running a string between the door and the gasket, but the gasket was too stiff and didn't seal completely. Probe to the drill bit, and I carefully drilled a hole through the metal from the outside, and then I took a very thin punch and pushed it CAREFULLY not to hit any of the coils inside, and pushed just enough to make an indentation on the inside. Then I drilled another hole inward right through the metal. This allowed me to run the probe in through the outside wall of the fridge. I finished it off with a nice heavy duty gorilla tape :) It's been running for about a week now with no problems. FYI, I have a compressor delay set to 10 minutes. The only thing I might need is to add a few cans of silica gel to reduce humidity. I don't have any problems at the moment, but I want to be ready just in case. Overall this has saved me hundreds of dollars and we love all the space our converted fridge freezer has.

Pros
  • Temperature and Humidity
Cons
  • Out of fashion
