Review on πŸ“ž VTech DS6621-2 DECT 6.0 Expandable Cordless Phone: Connect to Cell, Bluetooth, Answering System - Silver/Black, 2 Handsets by Robert Castro

Revainrating 5 out of 5

No more disruptions!

I bought this DECT 6.0 system because congestion on the 2.4GHz band in my apartment building was interfering with my existing cordless phones. Wireless Headset IS6200. I like using a headset with a microphone on my head to talk hands-free while doing chores, typing, cooking, etc. without the on-ear version crashing twice a day. After using these handsets for a month, I've come to the conclusion that the phone's speaker works well enough to make a headset unnecessary for now. Good to know that a DECT 6.0 headset (300ft range) or a Bluetooth headset (30ft range) can be added later if needed. The base unit supports up to 5 devices. For example: Hands-free phones work well (at least in my quiet home environment) No interference (none seen in 20+ hours of use) 300-foot range (tested up to 100 feet through walls, from walking outside to the mailbox) Good battery life (battery icon still showing full charge after 2 hours of hands-free use) Good sized display (easily read from 3-4ft away) Backlight turns on and displays caller ID when a call comes in. Easily view the caller ID log with one button and enter the phone book. Most features work from handsets. Ringer selection and volume control (including mute) for each handset. Phone book could not be loaded (error 360). I have a relatively small phone book, it wasn't difficult to enter it manually. I don't plan on using it that often, so I haven't tested it thoroughly. I'm cautiously giving 5 stars because it solved my local interference problem, it has a good speaker, good range, good sized display and is easy to use.
