I bought this leash for my girl for Christmas. The length is good and it seemed to be of good quality and is comfortable in your hands. Unfortunately, she was attacked by an off leash aggressive dog recently. When I tried to restrain her the clasp broke and I had to reach in and grab her collar. Not good in the middle of a dog fight. I don't believe this is a wide spread problem with this product, I just believe the one I got had a defect. That said, do your BF a most important favor, Test your collars and leashes before hand! I suggest attaching both collar and leash to a fence post or tree and put your weight against them. If one of them fails this test, I WILL NOT use them on my BF. She means too much to me. She is 80lbs. but not a runner or prone to bolt after people or other animals but if yours is, test these items BEFORE USE. It just might save your BF"s life! Or, I in my case, a costly vet bill. I am fortunate that the owner of the other dog has agreed to repay all the vet bills. Take care of your pets! They rely on US! Thanks.
