I don't know how this company (and I suspect others) manage to say that this is a 60 watt bulb. This is stated in the advertisement and is written on the device. Out of curiosity (and skepticism) I measured it with a wattmeter. The meter correctly measured the wattage of a 62 watt conventional 60 watt incandescent lamp. The thermal planet measured 190 watts! That was true for both in the 2-pack. It's really very bright, but I wouldn't want to put it where it's running for more than a few minutes a day. Buyer Warning.
