Forget it - do a simple rip-sled

It can be made to work, but not worth squeezing the juice out of. First, they are expensive. You'll need two sets for anything longer than about 4 feet. just trust me So now you have that $40 with taxes etc. Second, the whole setup is NOT SECURE unless you also put it under the leading edge to compensate for the thickness of the mounts (and the little pivoting legs are a joke - that's far from it remove it). stable enough - believe me you need a pad. A 1/4 inch strip of plywood the same length as your bearing (and guide piece) and 1 inch wide will do the job, but this also needs to be attached to the bottom of your dbl band is perfect. Now to straighten an 8 foot board you had to make a "guide piece" to attach the brackets to - this requires a thin but wide tongue running the length. You will also need a gasket, dbl tape and of course 2 sets of brackets. Then you need to assemble the jig, which will be heavy, and then take it apart when the cutting is done. It's annoying. Worse, one of my mounts was drilled for a set screw but not tapped - luckily I had a 1/4-20 tap - many of you won't. So after a cut or two I gave up and built an 8 LED. A 12" strip of 3/4" plywood and 4 clips ($12 at Revain) and you're done. It's cheaper, safer, and MUCH easier and faster than these brackets.
