Recliner solution

So I couldn't find a cover for my recliner that works well. If you leaned to the side, the lid just popped up and looked sloppy - not to mention the agony of getting up without dropping the footrest. I decided to try three separate recliner seat covers - two of the 30" and one of the 22" (middle seat) covers. I have oversized armrests and backrest so I couldn't use just three of the 22 inches - not enough coverage for my back and arm. I only used sponge inserts in the area of the armrests and on the backrest of the center seat, which cannot be reclined. I took four extra armrest flaps and tucked them between either side of the center seat - it actually keeps the covers in place well. I put less on the back and more on the bum so when the dogs jump there they don't drag three separate legs onto the couch. It's worked well so far, but it takes a bit to put all three pieces on (a bit scared of the first wash), but it works better than a single couch cover. As far as sofa protection goes - yes, but I can't say anything about waterproofing yet - the next rainy day will provide the answer when wet paws and a belly end up on the sofa.

Pros
  • Useful beyond its original purpose
Cons
  • Can I add something
