Standard decent disk. I've attached some measurements of the speed. It would appear that all disks of this size and rotating speed have a loud sound of operation, despite the fact that different manufacturers produce them. It can appear in two different ways: 1) An unpleasant squeak. This problem can be fixed by upgrading the firmware of the older SN02 device to the more recent and up-to-date SN05. The ate procedure is pretty straightforward, does not call for any specialized abilities, and can be found detailed on the internet. 2) A piercing noise can be heard whenever the disk is accessed. When there is no background noise, your hearing will be optimal. If the disk is held in place inside the casing by an automated rubber-plastic fastener, then the sounds will be similar to miniature explosions that are hard of hearing. And if you secure it tightly on the screws on both sides without allowing even the tiniest amount of backlash, the volume will drop to a level that is fairly comfortable.
