Review on 🔋 Enhanced Performance COMP Cams 5500 Electric Vacuum Pump Kit by Bill Lyons

This appears to be a poorly designed system. The relay arrived with a cracked case and was broken for a short time. I had to swap the relay. After acquiring a new relay, the system runs continuously and never generates enough vacuum to actually activate the switch to turn it off. After learning how it works without much help from the manufacturer (who told me to try tightening the bolts on top of the pump without being able to give me the torque specs), it appears the system is missing a check valve on the top side downstream of the pump so that air sucked in during operation is immediately recirculated when the pump starts to move up. Instead of creating a vacuum, it just pulses with air. If the pump is designed with a built-in check valve, it will not work. If it doesn't, the instructions don't mention the need to add it to the system. I hope I can return this product for a refund. I didn't spend $300 to rework and fix bugs in this 'kit'.
