Review on Enhance Precision & Safety with MJ SPLITTER SteelPro TK – Powerful Steel Splitter Tool by Brad Collins

Another great product from Micro Jig!

What a great product! Really well made and high quality. I have the standard riving knife that came with my table saw, but it was designed for a 1/8 full cut blade. When I put on my newly purchased .91 thin slotted blade, the standard riving knife was too thick for this new kid. After purchasing and installing the MJ log splitter I am very satisfied as I can now safely cut all types of wood with this thin blade. It works great with the Zero Clearance Insert (ZCI) designed for this new blade. By the way, my new thin blade cuts much better than my old full-cut blade. I also like the MJ splitter's mini pegboard feature. Properly adjusted double log splitters push the logs slightly away from the blade after cutting, making the cut safer and more precise. I'm thinking of buying another set of MJ splitters (1/8 kerf version) to replace the standard riving knife on my full kerf cross section blade (although I'll have to buy another new ZCI) because I think that the MJ splitters work better. as a riving knife. I personally know how scary and dangerous kickback on a table saw can be. Riving knives (or riving knives) are the most important precaution you can take to prevent kickback. BTW, for those considering this product but have read complaints about difficulty drilling ZCI plastic, make sure you use a 3/16 plastic drill bit to drill ZCI plastic instead of the universal drill bit provided ( which is good for drilling wood). Insertion). You need to make sure the holes are clean and sealed. The 5 3/16 dollar plastic drill bit is critical to properly installing the MJ splitters if you intend to use the ZCI plastic splitter. I think an MJ splitter should be installed on every table saw. Highly recommended!
