I just installed it and with the included drill bit it was difficult to drill through the Leecraft zero insert. I bought this to put on a throat plate but then found I needed a gap free insert to make it work properly. A bit annoying, but definitely worth it to be on the safe side. The only annoying thing is that I have to change it often. Doesn't work for bevel cuts or cuts that don't go all the way, such as B. when you are working on a thick hardwood board. The first attempt to install this splitter wasn't the best. I managed to drill 3 pilot holes until the tip of the drill bit cut into the panel. What a great product! Really well made and high quality. I have the standard riving knife that came with my table saw, but it was designed for a 1/8 full cut blade. When I put on my newly purchased .91 thin slotted blade, the standard riving knife was too thick for this new kid. After purchasing and installing the MJ log splitter I am very satisfied as I can now safely cut all types of wood with this thin blade.
