I bought this to put on a throat plate but then found I needed a gap free insert to make it work properly. A bit annoying, but definitely worth it to be on the safe side. The only annoying thing is that I have to change it often. Doesn't work for bevel cuts or cuts that don't go all the way, such as B. when you are working on a thick hardwood board. The splitter is slightly thicker in design than the blade, so it jams. I have to do my first few passes without it and then attach it where it goes all the way for the final cut. Unfortunately, I ruined a good chunk of walnut while figuring this out. Once installed and you get the hang of it, it's very good and does its job well. Security ALWAYS costs money and time.
