This lock is only designed for doors with a flat surface that opens in both directions.

The first picture is the bathroom door, you can see this rectangular shape facing up in front of the lock slot and inside. Well, that's why I can't lock the door from the inside, but it can be locked from the outside. However, in this second picture I may be able to lock myself as the locking slot has a small gap that won't stay in place. I'll just fall suck! It worked for another door in my apartment but not all. :(
