Interchangeable or not, these speakers perform excellently on a small table. I don't even feel like I want a subwoofer. You can't go wrong with these speakers at this price! ----------- ------------- Update: December 26, 2017 It has been about two years since I bought the original pair of these speakers. Since I first bought them, we've moved to a new house and I've had to redesign my music studio from scratch. In my new room I have two DAW tables, which greatly simplifies my workflow. I use the smaller table as an audio notepad. It's easy to work when I'm inspired. The original pair of these speakers have been sitting on my desk for about four months now. They fill a huge gap in modern DAWs, as I can plug them into my computer's audio jack to play Windows system sounds, YouTube videos, etc. While having them, I fell in love with their sound. So much so that sometimes I just use them instead of KRK Rokit 5s (the main monitors for this system) via ASIO4ALL. My main production table has been under construction since moving to a new house and I just finished it this week. When I sat down and started using it, I realized I had overlooked the fact that the speakers support windows sound without sending it through my audio interface. So I borrowed the T20s from the smaller table and moved them to the new main table. I also removed the grille covers so you can see the speakers. I'm a KRK fanatic and have KRK V6 as my main monitors (almost 18 years old) and love the yellow poly cones of KRK speakers. I knew I needed a set of "computer speakers" to complete the system and am here at Revain to purchase another set of T20s. Before deciding to buy them, I looked at other kits that were in the $80-$200 range. I chuckled when I saw that Bose speakers had about (+$10) the same range (I found Bose has lived on with their original 901 reputation for nearly 45 years) and that now most of their consumer products sound like crap. *t). So I didn't look any further. I love the T20, I can mix them up in a pinch, and their yellow speaker cones complement my KRKs. It was pretty stupid of me to look past this T20. Seriously, you won't find a better little speaker for under $300!
