Review on πŸ• DeLonghi EO241150M Livenza Convection Oven - Stainless Steel Digital Cooking by Amanda Spencer

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Good size, has some quirks but died young.

I bought this convection toaster after doing a lot of research and reading many reviews. I bought it in February 2018. Since then it has been used regularly on a daily basis. I've used it for toast, pizza, casseroles, etc. I often like to cook in the microwave because of the crispier texture of the food. The pizza function is pretty accurate. It even comes with a nice round pizza pan. I find the controls awkward. The toasting function is almost never what I want, so I usually toast the bread after 1 1/2-2 cycles of 5 minutes each. The oven is enough to cook small meals and the temperature control is accurate. However, I have to lower the temperature for most recipes because everything cooks quite quickly in a small space. I don't care about the scroll function, which calls various preset functions. I'd like more flexibility in setting the toast to light, medium, and dark, as well as the ability to clear the preset to manage it manually. You can do this by adjusting the temperature and time after selecting and running a preset. Now I will explain why it would get 0 stars if it was possible. He blinked, squeaked and died the other day. I've checked several exits with him and he's dead, dead, dead. No lights, no start, no power it seems. Something fried. I called the service number on the Delonghi website and there is no support after the one year warranty has expired. They don't even sell parts for them. General. They gave me the number of an authorized service center in California and require me to ship everything to them at my own expense and who knows how much the repair will cost - if it's even fixable. I'm kinda handy so I might open it up to see if I can find any obvious reasons for this crap. At the moment my expensive kitchen stove is going to landfill, which is a real shame. It's only 22 months old, which means it cost me about $14 a month to use. I have owned several of these devices over the years and have used all of them for many years. The very last one I gave away when I bought this one still works - I gave it to a family member. I wish I still had my $300 in my wallet and my old one back. The worst thing is that there is no way to fix it intelligently. I intend to contact a few local small appliance repair shops to see what they think because I just can't justify sending it in without a clear idea of the cost involved in reviving it . I think the moral of my story is to buy Square Trade's back-up guarantee if you want to protect yourself from circumstances like mine. So I went to Walmart and bought a cheap $25 toaster. I've lost faith in buying anything like this oven again. That's a big oh.
