GREAT CHOICE BUT BE CAREFUL WITH THE PACKAGING

I was looking at various HID models from Philips and Osram, both German and both excellent products; but for the D1S versions my X5 Retro-M required, the Osram Cool Blue BOOST won after countless hours of comparing brightness, heat (Kelvin) readings and so on. They are shown as "OFFROAD ONLY" due to the strict restrictions they have yet to approve for use in Europe with this whiter colour, although the actual brightness is "technically" around 10% lower than their more expensive NIGHT BREAKER LASER version . , but about 10% brighter than Cool Blue INTENSE Osram. Cool Blue Intense is about 10% brighter and 10% whiter than BMW's excellent OEM part, which is about 4500K and better than most other auto OEM bulbs. However, in our perception, their HUMAN factor causes brightness and color values to shift from one lamp to the next, and this is where Cool Blue BOOST excels. A 10% lower lumen (brightness) rating from a 20% whiter bulb (Kelvin) has a much brighter and sharper effect to the human eye in most cases. Its true temperature in Kelvin is around 6500 K and will increase by around 300 K after running in (20 to 30 hours of operation). The human eye does not see this; Also, the human eye cannot see a 10 percent deficit in brightness compared to the most powerful Night Breaker lasers, as they operate at around 4500K. and this warmer color (redder spectrum) is part of the increased brightness. But the human eye likes the TAG brightness, which is around 5500K at noon. (In the early morning and late afternoon it's closer to 4000K or less.) So don't get bogged down in "brightness" (lumen count) estimates; they are misleading in several respects; but there are some really good videos of sales teams testing all of these top performers. THE HUMAN EYE loves WHITE LIGHT, and the colors on the street at night are more striking with Cool Blue BOOST lamps than with any other. There is some truth to the claim that lower temperature bulbs make driving in snow and heavy rain easier because (theoretically) lower temperature bulbs (4200-4800K) don't bounce off particles like brighter whites do. But that is also the perception of the human eye; and you may like the softer amber hue of cooler temperatures. If so, then the Night Breaker Laser is the best out there (as of October 2019 for now). But if, like me, you want pure white, bold, rich colors over long distances with a European look for passers-by, then Cool Blue BOOST is the way to go. The fact that it is "banned" abroad makes it even more attractive! ATTENTION: Pay attention to the METHOD and WHO you order everything you receive. Buy ONLY FACTORY SEALED PAIRS. It is important to HID that "production batches" are matched rather than replacing one lamp at a time or purchasing "two boxed" lamps when receiving two SINGLE lamps. One can sit on the shelf two years longer than the other and have an obvious difference in hue (if that bothers you like I did). Second: RESEND TWIN BOX with broken seal. The attached photo may not show this, but this seal has been carefully broken and resealed. The buyer in a hurry will open it without realizing it and may be rejected by someone paying a NEW price. I can't fault the seller or Revain, but one of my orders has been backordered. Finally, AMAZON has a habit of sending these GLASS products, whether well packaged by Osram or not, in ENVELOPES, further increasing the risk of the seal being broken or worse. So check carefully before you go!
