This is an old fashioned version of the frying pan. It doesn't have the angle of the sides like new products and is much more "square". If you want the least conical version of a glass casserole dish, this is it. I tested the new ones with easy-to-use handles and a sharp cone angle, meaning anything you cook will be "thicker" than you'd like. With a shorter day, the volume of food has to go somewhere and it can only increase. In other words, if you remove the container at the bottom of the plate and were expecting 2-inch brownies, they're now thicker and all the edges are beveled on one side. As you can imagine I don't like the new design and I prefer this one.
