Ideal for playing guitar and singing into a microphone. I was surprised that at such a price the quality of the stand was so good. I originally bought this for training, but I am more than confident that I will take it with me wherever I go. Good quality tightening knobs and shafts, easy assembly right out of the box. Highly recommended. TO UPDATE. Unfortunately, after about five uses, the nut and bolt at the base of the stand no longer tightened enough to hold the downtube, which is now sliding to the ground. It's no good when you have to move the base which causes the base to wobble and I had to subtract one star from the original five I originally gave. Of course, to top it off, this happened the day after I took the crate to the recycling pickup. Frustrated that as a live theater audio contractor/sound engineer for the past 27 years we have used this many times in our projects.
