I don't smoke tobacco. I am not a Zippo collector. But I began to respect the artistic aspects of this inexpensive little cultural icon when I bought a campfire tool. This deeply carved "Regal" armor model is truly beautiful. It looks like 80 years ago. It is even very good in the hand. Aside from looks, I need something permanent to light a camp stove or campfire when camping. What could be more reliable than Zippo? Since I've been on the road for a week, I also purchased a dual-burner butane gas insert to turn this lighter into fuel that won't evaporate or spill onto my other gear. I think it can stay in my backpack for a month or two. With butane, I don't have to worry about running out of fuel. Also, having the butane insert a little farther away gives a more even flame, which is handy for starting my oil stove without frying my hand. I have to admit, the use of oil makes the flame much more aesthetic and natural.
