I put a black checkered rug in front of the front door. I also used a black rubber mat. First I laid a black and white carpet. Then I placed a solid black rubber welcome mat on top of a black and white checkered mat. Mat. I think the colors look really nice together. I was a little disappointed with the checkered carpet. It's a lot smaller than I thought it would be and it's very thin, there are no clicks in the mat at all. I know it will be very difficult to keep clean. Anyway it looks good now, I've vacuumed it every other day although it's nice I would buy it again even if it doesn't last long.
