I wear a size 14 wide shoe, and it is very hard to find high quality socks that keep my feet dry and comfortable. I used to buy Merrell XL socks but they stopped making them a few years ago so I turned to Walmart and ordered about 6 different brands to try out. The Cloudline socks were the only ones that fit comfortably, especially around the ankle and calf - all the other brands I tried dug in painfully at the top of the sock. I think these socks are just so much more soft and stretchy, it makes them more comfortable to wear for a variety of foot sizes.I have now had Cloudline socks for a couple years and they are still in great condition (even though I do toss them in the dryer on delicate occasionally). On top of that, I have ordered directly from the company a couple times and their customer service is absolutely outstanding. The two styles I buy and love are the XL light cushion 1/4 running sock, and the XL medium cushion hiking sock. The medium cushion overall is a bit stretchier than the light cushion (more fabric makes it easier to spread out a bit more I guess), so it is extremely comfortable around my calves for the taller hiking sock style.
