Review on Rivet Modern Shibori Watercolor Stripe Bedding Set - Indigo, Full/Queen by Rosa Hughes

We were excited when we were offered this Rivet Modern Shibori Stripe Duvet set. The colors are perfect for our home, Shibori patterns are very much 'in' and being that I'm half Okinawan, I love that something that's traditional to my culture is now a trendy style.The fabric feels very soft when you run your hands over it - even though it's similar to a seersucker texture. It arrived in a little cotton drawstring bag, which I thought was cute. Convenient to store in the linen closet as a set, should you be the type of person who switches out your bedding in various seasons. It's got buttons on one end of the duvet set so it's easy to keep your blanket tucked into your duvet.It washes and dries very nicely - no bleeding from the fabric at all but my ONLY complaint for this is that it had a VERY odd odor to it.I couldn't put my finger on it.it was almost like a petroleum type of odor to it? I washed it twice and we can still smell it but it's faint. I will honestly say that I'm not sure if there was something non staining that got on my set (I don't think so), if it's the dyes in it or if it was stored near something that had this smell. My husband can't smell it but my teenage boys and I can - even after washing and drying twice. I'm washing it again, in hopes that the smell is completely gone afterwards because it's a beautiful set. .I LOVE the gorgeous blue tones in this duvet set and the shibori pattern reminds me of thick paint brush strokes. It's very pretty. Color on my monitor is incredibly close to my set in life.If anyone has suggestions on how to get rid of the odor, please let me know!3/16: I'm now editing my review to lower it to 2 stars vs 3. I think this is well made, it's a beautiful print with gorgeous colors but I've washed it several more times, used different detergents and still can't get this faint odor out. None of my family wants to use it because of the smell. ****I'm keeping 2 stars because I'm hoping that it's simply just our set that smells this way.if mine didn't have this odor, I'd rate it 5 stars. The colors and texture of it is REALLY that nice!
