It has magnets in the corners and may work if put on the dryer but is too thin to use on other surfaces use. When the iron is on the cotton setting, the most common setting for quilting, the surface underneath the iron becomes too hot. I tried folding it in four, ironed a 4" seam (which takes about 5 seconds), then lifted the back to check the table. I could iron right on the table to enjoy all the protection this pad offers. Any thickness starting from the outside was apparently just fluff as after only 1 month of use there doesn't seem to be anything between the outer layers. I don't often write negative reviews but I seriously wouldn't recommend this pad to anyone.
