You will feel the quality and protection as soon as you put them on. But they seem to be a bit heavier than other pads. Minimal but noticeable. They look great and, as bulky as they are, they somehow sit or feel closer to the lower leg. The reason I brought her back is the same as most of the people mentioned here. I'm 5'4" and the top strap cuts into the back of my knees to the point where it's impossible to wear them. It doesn't matter until you start moving and try to throw your knees .Nearly perfect despite the extra weight.But the top strap makes them unsuitable for people with physical disabilities.I downgraded to challenger pads and this is the best choice for me.They are lighter and offer adequate protection.I can pretty hard kicking without being afraid to feel it, both models didn't move an inch during the sparring.
