Zero shift, excellent protection

After several months of suffering with cheap shields I gave up and bought them. You stay nice and tight and don't move sideways when sparring, even when you're practicing leg holds. I contacted Venum customer service to inquire about the differences between the models and they said that the Elite is made in Thailand while the cheaper Predator and Challenger models are made in Pakistan or China. I didn't feel the top strap rub against the back of my knees, which some people have complained…

Big. BUT I had to send it back.

You will feel the quality and protection as soon as you put them on. But they seem to be a bit heavier than other pads. Minimal but noticeable. They look great and, as bulky as they are, they somehow sit or feel closer to the lower leg. The reason I brought her back is the same as most of the people mentioned here. I'm 5'4" and the top strap cuts into the back of my knees to the point where it's impossible to wear them. It doesn't matter until you start moving and try to throw your knees…

The ankle is also not very comfortable

Sitting a little strange. I may have gone up a size, I'm 5ft 8" and an L. Velcro on top is very high on the calf, almost at the socket of the knee. The front hem rubs my big toes so much I have to tape them off to prevent chafing (sweaty), they're pretty light for their bulk, they don't move and look very cool. I get a lot of compliments fighting in them, last time I looked like something from RoboCop lol. They also feel very protective. My friend got them and sent them back for the above…

Great shoes - but remember your technique

I train in karate - an independent dojo with Kyokushin roots, fight once a week and play flatbread with a heavy bag about once a week in between. So far I've used standard "dyed foam" sneakers and a pair of fabric knee pads. Works well but the beats are clumsy and may last a year or two. I got to a point in training where I realized I was going to do this for as long as my body would allow, so spending $30 a year on something clumsy and disposable looked silly. I bought these and they are…

I should have bought them from the start.

I tried 2 pairs of shin guards before resorting to them. Why? Because like everyone else I wanted to save money and decided that other available shin guards couldn't be less valuable than the more expensive ones. I started with a $20 pair. It was very light and thin. I thought I understood something, I came to a Muay Thai class and had to learn it the hard way. My shins were killed. This little pad did absolutely nothing after 2-3 weeks. I saw bruises and after a few days when I touched my…
