I recently bought this camera body after doing a lot of research on it. It was a real choice between it and the K 30. I chose this one mainly because of the external flash socket as I have an old studio light I want to use with it. I really liked the lower price of the K 30 and the reviews for it were excellent. I love that both models are water and temperature resistant because I love shooting outdoors, especially in inclement weather. I liked that the K 30 has a very similar structure to my K and of course the lower price. However, I bought the K5 II and am very happy with it. Today I started taking photos with and without the built-in flash - excellent! I tried again to compare them to Kr but they are not. I've never managed such good exposure and color saturation with so little effort. I like this new body. I found it heavier than I'm used to and the dial layout is taking some getting used to, but I can live with that. This camera feels very solid. If you're shooting wildlife or birds, you'll love the shutter - it makes almost no noise. It was an expensive purchase for me, but I think it's worth it in the long run. I bought it through Electronic Basket and it came with everything that should have been included - correct battery, instruction manual etc. The Pentax box was opened and the lens removed as I didn't buy the lens just the body . I was expecting it to come to me in a Pentax box with just the body and accessories, not the box with the lens display. Although I really don't care. The seller was SUPER fast and also spoke well with me before I made the purchase. No complaints.
